LexMedia takes three national awards for local productions. LexMedia is proud to announce that it has been honored with three Hometown Media Awards. Two of the awards go to volunteer members, Nathan Ernst Bourjolly and Saoirse Loftus-Reid and one staff member Rick Dorrington. This annual awards competition  is hosted by the Alliance for Community Media, an umbrella organization representing community media centers across the country. Center and individuals compete for national recognition.

Saoirse Loftus- Reid won for her documentary on the Clarke Middle School’s trip to Japan. The students were representing the USA in a youth stage play festival. Her winning film is called  Geijyutsu Wa Mirai “Performing Arts is the Future.”  Nathan Ernst Bourjolly won for an episode of his late night type talk show, “The Nathan Bourjolly Show” and LexMedia Community Producer, Rick Dorrington, won for his short work called “LHS Football Locker Room Pre Game.”

“We’ve won Hometown Awards in the past, but never three in one year,” says Executive Director, Florence DelSanto. “I think this shows the level of maturity and professionalism LexMedia has achieved. It especially nice to see the range of members winning. Saorise is a LHS senior who we’ve worked with for 4 or 5 years. Nathan is in middle school and Rick is on staff. Congratulations to all the winners!”

All three programs can be found on the LexMedia.org website under “On Demand” and also linked to on the LexMedia Facebook page.
