LexMedia is pleased to announce that our Secretary of the Board, Sue Rockwell, received this year’s White Tricorne Hat award from the Lexington Lions Club.

The winning candidate best demonstrates a dedication to the principles of outstanding leadership, and has advanced the American way of life in Lexington by giving unselfishly of his or her time and talents over the years, beyond the normal bounds of his or her normal occupation. Candidates are selected through nomination.

The White Tricorne Hat Award, Lexington’s Outstanding Citizen of the Year, has been presented annually on Patriots’ Day since 1954. A judicial committee reviews the candidates; representatives from the Lexington Lions Club, Lexington Clergy Association, Lexington Rotary Club, Lexington Chamber of Commerce, Lexington Lodge of Elks, and the Lexington Historical Society, as well the two most recent recipients of the award are voting members of the committee.

LexMedia is incredibly proud of Sue and her considerable contributions to the Lexington community – congratulations!

Thanks so much for your excellent coverage! We came up from Cape Cod to go back to Lexington.where my grandmother, mother my siblings and I grew up, and all went to Hancock School. We lived at 55 Forest St. At age 79 I didn’t expect to see many LHS ’63 Classmates, and when Sue Rockwell rode by in her White Tricorne Hat I was truly thrilled! Please give her my heartiest congratulations!
I shall be posting your wonderful LexMedia links into my Facebook group “Lexington, MA ~ Vintage Years” in which we have 202 Topical Albums. https://www.facebook.com/groups/34789989046/media/albums
My whole family was tickled to see your Ken Burns interview…a piece of my late Dad’s Home Movie of a Lex. Patriots Day parade footage was used in the first episode of his series on Vietnam. https://www.facebook.com/groups/34789989046/search/?q=florentine

Thank you for your kind words, Ann – we’re so happy to hear that you enjoyed our coverage of the semiquincentennial celebrations in town. Wow – very cool that your father’s footage was used in Ken Burns’ Vietnam documentary!
